JPII Center Brings the Healing Love of Jesus
Updated: Jul 28
My first experience with the John Paul II Healing Center was a book study of "Be Healed" by Dr. Bob Schuchts. It provided deep insight into the formation of wounds and taught practical ways to bring Jesus into the healing process. Meeting weekly in a small group helped me to persevere, because the personal work was very challenging. The "Restore the Glory" podcast presented by Dr. Bob and Jake Khym was a very helpful supplement.
I found out about a JPII Healing Center "Undone" women's conference being held at a parish in Huntersville, NC, signed up, and booked a hotel room. Dr. Bob's daughter Carrie Daunt wrote the book on which the conference was based and was one of the speakers. The testimonies of all the speakers were honest and inspiring, and it was wonderful to have discussions with the other women in attendance and pray together.
Friends had been telling me about the "Healing the Whole Person" retreat, but I could not afford the time and distance required to attend in person. So I signed up for the virtual retreat. I went at my own pace working through the material in three months. I was better able to understand the concepts that I was introduced to in "Be Healed" and go deeper into applying them to my own life. The companion book, "Do You Want to Be Healed?" was very helpful for journaling.
Following the JPII Healing Center on Facebook, I won two copies of Sr. Miriam James Heidland's book "Behold". I gave one copy to a friend and have been working through it slowly as I have time. It is gently helping me to explore my childhood and heal some wounds from family relationships.
The JPII Healing Center has many retreats and books. They also have training courses for healing ministry.
